Y'all keep Safe Now- all the way to Dallas

We have left Route 66 behind, not entirely deliberately but we pretended we really wanted to drive down US 287, I40, I87 and the I who knows what so that we could join  the LBJ motorway, in the middle of  a storm.

Buzz, Buzz, Buzz- what's that we asked ourselves as we negotiated the wrong exit twice. (It turned out to be urgent text messages from the Texas storm warning authorities warning us not to go exactly where we were going.). We are used to ignoring rules about double yellow lines, no turn signs etc so a storm warning wasn't going to stop us.

Because- every time we check out of a hotel or pay at a petrol station, the person at the counter says "Y'all be safe now".   So we press on across this country, braving storms, breaking road rules and arriving safely.

Flags are everywhere!

What we learned today:  Texas is green and it rains- heavily!

We are going to petition President Obama to send Red Lobster to Australia!
