What happens in Vegas .......

Driving out of LA, in a car we have never driven, on the other side of the road - pshtosh - easy!  Unless you count crossing double yellow lines (twice), taking a wrong turn (more than twice) and going really, really slowly in the carpool lane.

We thought we were driving to Vegas  but after driving past the Eiffel Tower, Statue of Liberty, Pyramid and Brooklyn  Bridge all in the one street, we were not so sure.

Vegas is a very friendly town.  While walking the LV Boulevard, on every corner people gave Craig little cards with pictures and phone numbers of pretty, if underdressed, ladies who were evidently happy to visit him in his room - did they not know we are all bunking in together?

On to the Hoover Dam was enormous, we saved $10 by using the free carpark which is 500 metres from the pay car park, requiring we climb hundreds of stairs while the temp was 95 degrees in the shade .  Sunburnt, hot and generally pooped is the best way to enjoy an engineering marvel.

What we loved: Stopping at the Roadside Kill Café for dinner - the Splatter Platter was to die for!
What we learned: Carpooling is not Mummies driving kiddies to kindy, one is supposed to go really fast in that lane and one is not supposed to stop in it to look for directions.
